School Division Criteria
- Prohibits the smoking or vaping of all tobacco products or smoking materials in all school buildings and facilities, including e-cigarettes, cannabis/marijuana and hookah/shisha
- Prohibits the smoking or vaping of all tobacco products or smoking materials by staff and students on all school grounds, property and events (except Indigenous ceremonies as addressed in the Tobacco and Smoking Reduction Act)
- Enforcement of smoke-free school policies is consistent and fair for students, staff, and visitors
Municipal Criteria
- Bans smoking and vaping of all tobacco products or smoking materials in the following locations: playgrounds, parks, sports fields/facilities, outdoor events (except Indigenous ceremonies as addressed in the Tobacco and Smoking Reduction Act)
- Broad definition of smoking that includes the smoking and vaping of all tobacco products, cannabis/marijuana, shisha, and other substances
Post-secondary criteria
- Declared a “smoke-free campus policy”/”smoke-free campus”
- Prohibits the smoking or vaping of all tobacco products or smoking materials in all university/college buildings and facilities, grounds/property, student residences, and on-and-off campus events, including e-cigarettes, cannabis/marijuana and hookah/shisha (except Indigenous ceremonies as addressed in the Tobacco and Smoking Reduction Act)
- Enforcement of smoke-free campus policies on campuses is consistent and fair for students, staff, and visitors
